TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION

ACCOMODATION

Details of all types of accommodation in Cork city are given on the Irish Tourist Board (Bord Fáilte) website and bookings can be made online.

University College, Cork (UCC) is a 20 minute walk from the city centre, close to hotels, guesthouses and bed and breakfast accommodation. There are a large number of B&Bs and guesthouses along the Western Road and College Road, within a five minute walk of UCC. In addition, there are a number of hostels, all within 30 minutes of UCC, offering very good value dormitory - style and small room options, but you will need to book early! Contact phone/fax numbers for some of these are given in the "student" section of the UCC website the Bord Fáilte website.

CONFERENCE RATES

Conference rates have been negotiated for the following and all are inclusive of breakfast.:

Jury's Hotel on the Western Road (phone: +353 21 276622, fax: +353 21 274477) will provide a special conference rate for conference delegates. Prices are £70 per night for a single room and £40 per night per person sharing (twin room).

Brookfield Hotel on College Road (phone: + 353 21 804700, fax: +353 21 804793 are offering prices of £35 per night for a single room and £25 per night per person sharing.

Lancaster Lodge Guesthouse on the Western Road (phone +353 21 251125, fax +353 21 251126) £40 per night for a single room and £30 per night per person sharing (twin or double).

Victoria Lodge Guesthouse (Victoria Cross - 15 minute walk) prices are £30 per night per person sharing and £36 per night for a single room (phone: +353 21 542233, fax +353 21 542572).

TRAVEL

There are good air, sea and rail links between Cork and most European cities. Furthermore, there are connecting flights and good connections by rail from Belfast and Dublin and bus connections between Shannon and Cork. There are a number of ferry services operating from the UK and France.

TRAVEL DISCOUNTS
